「水窪の遠吠え」
創作張り子です。
いまは絶滅したと言われる
ニホンオオカミ。
群れ社会で、育児は群れで行うそう。
狂犬病が何度か流行って、
群れが狂犬病で全滅したり、
人を襲うようになったため
捕獲に賞金がかかり、
やがて絶滅・・・
むかしは農耕民族の守り神でした。
人を襲うことはなかったのです。
足あとの発見、
ニホンオオカミらしき目撃談があり、
専門家から
「ニホンオオカミの特徴がある」とされる
野犬（ニホンオオカミの古称）の写真も
撮影されています。
子育て中の群れが
仲間を呼んで遠吠えする
そんな作品です。

"The Howl of Misakubo"
This is an original papier-mâché piece.
The Japanese wolf is said to be extinct now.
It lives in a pack society and raises its young in groups.
There were several rabies epidemics,
whose packs were wiped out by rabies,
and they began attacking people,
so bounties were placed on their capture,
and they eventually became extinct...
In the past, they were the guardian deities of farming people.
They never attacked people.
Footprints have been discovered,
there have been sightings of what appears to be the Japanese wolf,
and a photograph has also been taken of a wild dog (an old name for the Japanese wolf) that experts say "bears the characteristics of the Japanese wolf."
This piece depicts a pack howling to call to its mates while raising its young.
